Who selects the site?

Dennis the Grill Boy selects the site for the restaurant but the franchise applicant can propose another location for assessment by the company.

How much is the total investment needed for a Dennis the Grill Boy Franchise?

Everything will come around to P 5.5 million, depending on the outlet’s size, location of the store, land and building. The costs covered are for store equipments, franchise fee, building improvement, leasehold improvement, signage, refundable security deposit, POS systems, furniture, fixtures, working capital, initial supplies and expenses.

What are the franchise details?

  • Franchise Fee of Php 750,000.00 + 12 % VAT
  • This includes Operations Support, Use of Brand and Trade Name
  • Opening Marketing Support, training support and Operations Manual.
  • Franchise Term: 8 Years (which is renewable)
  • Product Security Deposit of Php 200,000.00
  • Minimum Space Requirement of 100 sqm
  • Advertising Fee which is 2 % of Gross Sales

What about advertising? How much do I need to contribute?

In the event that the FRANCHISOR decides to come up with a national advertisement, the FRANCHISEE agrees to pay, in addition to Royalty Fees, an amount not to exceed two percent (2%) of the total amount of the FRANCHISEE’S Gross Receipts as Marketing Support Fund (MSF).

How does a deposit work?

The FRANCHISEE shall remit to the FRANCHISOR the amount of P 200,000.00, 30 days prior to opening as security deposit. The said deposit shall be made to answer for any and all of FRANCHISEE’S obligations under this Agreement and held by the FRANCHISOR but shall be non-interest bearing and shall be returned to the FRANCHISEE upon the termination or expiration this Agreement less any amounts due to the FRANCHISOR to unpaid supplies and other expenses.

What about Royalty Fees? How do those work?

A monthly royalty fee equivalent to 3% of all gross sales less Value Added Tax (VAT) for the first month of operation and 5% of all gross sales less VAT for the succeeding months. The monthly royalty fee is due on the 5th day after the receipt of such billing. The royalty fee is for the right to continuous use of the Proprietary marks of “DENNIS’ THE GRILLBOY” in the franchised location during the term of the Agreement unless otherwise terminated. In the event the FRANCHISEE fails to pay any Royalty Fees within thirty (30) days after the Due Date, the FRANCHISEE shall in addition to such Royalty Fees, pay a late charge equivalent to three percent (3%) of the late royalty fee payments.

Gross Sales?

Yes. As stated in this agreement, it means the total amount of all sales for cash or on credit whether or not payment is received for such sales in the franchised company less pertinent service charges and value added tax. All payments measured by gross sales shall be accompanied by a statement of gross sales certified to be correct by FRANCHISEE, in which he/she needs to attach a copy of the pertinent tape receipts.

How about the terms of the Dennis the Grill Boy Franchise?

  • Term of franchise shall be eight (8) years from the signing of this Agreement unless sooner terminated as provided for in this Agreement.
  • After the lapse of the eight (8) year term of this first Agreement, parties herein may, by mutual consent renew the same for another five (5) years. The FRANCHISEE may initiate the said request for renewal by submitting a written request for such extension not later than one hundred twenty (120) days before the expiration of the original eight (8) year term. Such request will provide for the period of renewal requested, the terms and conditions of the agreement wherein a proposed modification is sought and such other terms and covenants sought to be included. Negotiations for the renewal shall thus commence and a final renewal of the agreement must be reached no later than fifteen (15) days before the expiration of this Agreement.

Do they provide training? If so, in what ways?

The training of the FRANCHISEE’S personnel will be conducted after the Franchise Agreement is signed, a location is secured and a lease is signed, but before the FRANCHISEE commences the opening of the franchised “DENNIS’ THE GRILL BOY” outlet.
