    We, the PUP Maharlika Dance Artists, the resident student dance group of Polytechnic University of the Philippines will be celebrating our 36th Season by the movements and explorations of body by participating the FRINGE MNL 2018 on the month of February, the National Arts Month. The group will stage its winning piece ,KARERA, into a full-length performance in which the piece won Champion in PASUC Nationals 2017 Contemporary dance category held at Dumaguete City.

    “KARERA” is about the proverbial survival of the fittest, taking the urban rat race as its metaphor. The piece is inspired by the fluid, contagious yet chaotic urban social patterns weaved in an uncompromising and rigid structure. It is also an interrogation of the society’s conflicting values on realizing individualistic/family-oriented goals in the expense of co-creating a culture of care and safety within a community. KARERA is about a 45-minute dance composed of five (5) choreographies that will be staged on 23rd of February 2018, Friday, (6:00pm-8:00pm) and 24th of February 2018, Saturday, (4:00pm-6:00pm) at PUP Theater “Tanghalan ng Bayan”, College of Communication Compound and since it’s a pay-what-you-can show we are expecting six-hundred (600) participants inside and outside the PUP Community.

    In line with this, we would like to ask for your invaluable assistance. Your donations and sponsorship are most welcome for this activity.
